Office Hours Episode 79

Rooting in right, saturation versus field capacity, don’t say flush refresher, & More!

Every day’s a beautiful day to dig into plant science!

Jason held down this week’s session solo, answering viewer questions rapid-fire style – leading to an hour abundant with information! From sharing advice on which metrics matter most with crop registration, to tips on everything from rooting-in to stacking EC and more, there are too many insights to mention from this treasure trove of an episode!

Here are some of our favorite moments from this week:

Crop Registration Tips

“If everything is mostly dialed in, what I always try and make sure that I have is plant height, runoff PH, and then runoff volume. Those are basically the three that I like to see at least every other day, if not every day, if we can." – Jason

The Goal When Stacking EC

“The objective here is just try and let's get that hormone balance in the plant altered fairly reasonably early in flower so we can promote more bud sites, tighter node spacing, and change the physiology of that plant into something that's going to be reproductive as early as possible.” – Jason

Irrigation Matters When Rooting In

“Typically, we're looking at three to five times a day – just a really small irrigation, because we want to make sure before those roots have penetrated the Hugo, that we're just getting a slight refreshment, and that's also going to help bring fresh oxygen into the substrate. The goal here is that we're not bringing it back all the way up to field capacity.”

– Jason
