At the heart of Mohave Cannabis Co. is a passion to provide the best medicinal-quality cannabis to the people of Arizona and California.

Since 1999

To understand the start of Mohave Cannabis Co., you have to go back to the early years of medicinal cannabis in the US.

“I got bit by the bug at an early age, and just really found out that this plant can really change people's lives for the better.”

Jay Walker,
Facility Manager, Mohave Cannabis Co.

“I was involved with a dispensary in Winter, California. Everything was a co-op at that point . . . a collective of people, you would say. And that's where I really got involved with this medicine. I saw a lot of cancer patients. I saw really sick people. I mean, you know, you get your average, you know, surfer/skater guy, and they're still looking for meds too, but I was seeing more of an influx of people that
actually needed safe access to this medicine."

The road that paved the way to Mohave’s current success is made of many things, among them: blood, sweat, and years of operating on the fringes. Now, after many changes in the law and lots of success in the growroom, they’ve got their setups in a good place, allowing them to serve their patients safe (and legal) bud.

“I got raided in 2013 and I needed to operate a little more safely.”

“My journey into the cannabis industry has been pretty long. I started this company with the owner growing in his garage, just his caregivers with 12 lights . . . and now we have three facilities and over a thousand lights.”

The River Kids

The River Kids

Since 1922, several pieces of legislation governing Colorado River water rights have been implemented to provide enough supply to the drought-ridden area. But state and federal government agencies divided up the water during a year when it was wetter than usual, which would later complicate matters. After decades of confusion, in 1964 the Supreme Court made a decision that ultimately enforced previous allotments to each state. At the end of the day, the ruling ensured certain rights for Needles, safeguarding the desert town from water shortages.

“This is our home. I was actually born here in Needles and I live across the river in Arizona.”

Helping People with Plants

Trailblazers in an era when the stigma against it was strong, Mohave approached cannabis from a different angle, infusing their passion for growing with a mission to help people.

“That was a really important thing because it was really being pushed off like, you know, this is just a cash grab for a lot of people and stuff like that. But for me, I always saw the medicinal side of it. I saw people really getting help and relief that they couldn't get from regular pharmaceuticals.”

Pride and Profit

“Before we started using AROYA, we were probably two and a quarter or two and a half pounds of light . . . and in a few months we've been using AROYA and learning how to use it to its best ability that, you know, we're closer to 2.7, five, three pounds, and even above on certain strains.”

Wes Brodbeck,
Director of Cultivation, Mohave Cannabis Co.

“We build real fast. We grow fast. We're a really fast growing company. I feel like the opportunities are endless with our company because we really, you can do anything you want here. We have tons of room for more growth even. And it's wild to me that this all stems from a plant.”
